House of the Dragon – Season 2 (Max)
House of the Dragon wraps up
We appreciate everyone who tuned in during our summer takeover with our House of the Dragon Companion Series. If you haven’t checked it out, explore our House of the Dragon playlist on YouTube and subscribe to our channel. The series was a wild ride, and while the internet seems torn, we can all agree that if you’re into Game of Thrones and Westeros, House of the Dragon is a must-watch. Sure, the internet is full of naysayers, but we can’t help but recognize quality television when we see it — it’s the top 1%, after all.
What to Watch!

What to watch – The Bear – Season 3 out now on Hulu (FX)
The Bear: A Culinary Experience
One show we have thoroughly enjoyed is The Bear. An FX original available on Hulu and Disney Plus, it delves deep into the life of a family restaurant in Chicago. Jeremy Allen White’s character leaves his chaotic family to become a world-class chef, only to return home to transform the family restaurant. It’s dramatic, heartfelt, and sprinkled with a lot of intense kitchen action. The episodes keep us on our toes with unpredictable formats and famous cameos, making it a must-watch.
What to watch – Kumail Nanjiani and cast of Silicon Valley (Max)
Rewatching Silicon Valley
We’ve recently been re-watching Silicon Valley, and it’s just as entertaining the second time around. The humor, characters, and tech world antics are a perfect balance of laughter and intelligence. Thomas Middleditch, T.J. Miller, and Kumail Nanjiani shine in their roles, bringing to life the hilarious, chaotic ups and downs of a tech startup.
What to watch – George MacKay as Lance Corporal Schofield in 1917 (Netflix)
War Movie Marathons
Our recent indulgence in World War-themed media has been intense. We watched 1917, a phenomenal film that feels like it’s shot in a continuous take, bringing an unparalleled intensity to the screen. If you haven’t seen 1917, it’s a must-watch — whether you’re a fan of war movies or not. It’s on Netflix, so go check it out.
What to watch – Rick and Morty (Adult Swim)
Diving back into Rick and Morty
We’ve also recently wrapped up the latest season of Rick and Morty, Season 7. It’s a return to form for the show, balancing meta-humor and wacky adventures with a touch of emotional depth. If you’ve drifted away from the series, now’s the perfect time to come back.
What to play – Horizon Forbidden West
Catching up on some recent must plays!
Shifting gears to gaming, we’re knee-deep in Horizon Forbidden West. This sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn has blown our expectations out of the water. With around 50 hours clocked in and only halfway through, the game continually introduces new mechanics and environments, keeping gameplay fresh and exciting.
What to play – Frostpunk gameplay (Steam)
Exploring Frostpunk and Total War
Sneaking in some playtime for Frostpunk — a survival strategy game that we’re trying to fall into. It has the right flavor and formula, might just need a solid session to get lost in. Revisiting Total War classics like Shogun 2 and Rome 2 with overhaul mods, has been a fun way to scratch that strategy itch as you dance around the idea of buying Total War Pharaoh – which we hear is an all new game with the most recent patch!
The Beauty of Ori and the Will of the Wisps
On the gaming side, we’ve been wrapped up in Ori and the Will of the Wisps — a beautiful sequel with stunning visuals and challenging gameplay. A true must-play for those who enjoy Metroidvania style games, which excels on the Steam Deck.
What to play – Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, bug exterminator supreme (Steam)
Deep Rock Galactic Survivor
Lastly, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor has provided chunks of fun gameplay. This bullet-hell roguelike is perfect for quick sessions or extended runs, offering endless mining and bug-shooting fun.
What to Watch Quick Hits: Movies and Shows
Twisters: Fun in theaters, but might not have the same punch at home. It’s the type of film best enjoyed with surround sound and an enormous screen.
The Bike Riders: Austin Butler and Tom Hardy shine in this unexpected yet riveting tale. Though it might have left theaters, keep an eye out for streaming options.
The Liberators: A unique mix of live-action and animation portraying World War II heroism. On Netflix, it’s only four episodes long but packs a punch.
Siege of Jadotville: Another Netflix war-based film worth your time.
