Everything Announced at the Nintendo Direct

Nintendo held a Direct early this morning focusing on third-party partners, announcing several exciting titles coming to the switch in the coming months. The Nintendo Direct mini lasted less than thirty minutes and showed off several new titles as well as some exciting news for ‘Persona’ fans.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

The direct opened with news on the upcoming ‘Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak’ expansion, showing off the seemingly large expansion. Alongside the announcement of the expansion, Capcom also showcased the planned road map for future DLC. The expansion will release on June 30th, with several title updates to follow throughout the rest of the year.

Nier: Automata The End of YoRHa Edition

‘Nier: Automata’ will finally be released for the Switch, bringing the war between humans and robots on the go. The complete edition of ‘Nier: Automata’ will include all the previous DLC and will release on Switch October 6th of this year. 

Lorelei and the Laser Eyes

This puzzle game with an incredible art style looks to bring a nail biting murder mystery to the Switch. Launching first on Nintendo Switch sometime next year. The game has one of the most unique art styles we have seen at Show Boys, bringing back the old school puzzle adventure game.

RPG Time: The Legend of Wright

This stunning title takes players on an adventure that takes place entirely in a notebook. Players will draw, erase, and even use a calculator to overcome the two hundred pages of content. One of the most unique and artistic games shown today launches for Nintendo Switch on August 18th. 

Super Bomberman R 2, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Pac-Man World Re-PAC

‘Super Bomberman R 2’ is the newest entry in the long running series, bringing new game modes and the ability to create stages. The new entry will hit Switch in 2023. ‘Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection’ will bring all ten titles to the Switch in 2023. The tactical role-playing spin on the classic Capcom character sees players battle on a grid. The first entry launched in 2001, gaining nine more sequels over the years. The new collection will include an art gallery and music library. ‘Pac-man World Re-PAC’ is a remake of ‘Pac-Man World’, the 3D game aimed to bring Pac-Man into the modern age. The new remake will launch on August 26th, 2022.

Blanc

In this beautiful and emotional title, players take control of one of two animals as they navigate a beautiful and highly stylized world. The artwork looks like a sketch come to life, as players solve puzzles in either single or co-op play. ‘Blanc’ launches in February of 2023.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope

The sequel to the smash hit ‘Mario + Rabbids’ received a gameplay trailer, showing off different tactics in the new entry. The new entry will be launching on October 20th of this year. Ubisoft will also be holding a livestream tomorrow to take a deeper dive into the sequel. 

Little Noah: Scion of Paradise

This new seemingly procedurally generated side scroller sees the main character trapped in old ruins. The ruins constantly shift every time they are entered as she tries to navigate her way through using classic side scrolling combat. Launching on Nintendo Switch later today.

Sonic Frontiers

The newest entry for everyone’s favorite blue hedgehog received a new gameplay trailer during the showcase. Showcasing the various open biomes to explore with all of Sonic’s classic skills.. ‘Sonic Frontiers’ will launch sometime this Winter. 

Live A Live

The remake of the classic Super Famicom title leans on the new HD2D style. The game has eight different characters all set in their own various time periods. From feudal Japan to the future, players can download a demo later today. The demo gives access to the beginning of three of the stories, with save data transferring to the main game when it launches on July 22nd. 

Minecraft Legends

Originally shown at the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase earlier this month, ‘Minecraft Legends’ is also making its way to the Switch. The spinoff of the hugely popular ‘Minecraft’ series takes the series in a new direction. This action strategy game will launch in 2023 and will be a fresh take on the Minecraft world.

Dragon Quest Treasures

The newest spinoff to the ‘Dragon Quest’ series, sees two siblings from ‘Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age’ set out on a treasure hunting adventure. Erik and Mia from the newest mainline ‘Dragon Quest’ take to a huge open world to seek out the next fortune. Using various items, classic ‘Dragon Quest’ monsters, and each other to scour the world in search of treasure. ‘Dragon Quest Treasures’ launches on December 9th.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, No Man’s Sky, and A Plague Tale: Requiem- Cloud Version

‘Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes’ which is out now, saw a brief teaser during a montage. ‘No Man’s Sky’ is also making its way to the Nintendo console, giving explorers of its vast open universe a way to do so on the go. The Sequel to ‘A Plague Tale: Innocence’ will also be receiving a cloud version for the Switch when it launches on October 18th. 

Portal: Companion Collection

The new collection will be bringing Valves classic series onto Nintendo’s newest console. The game will include both of the titles single player campaigns as well as the multiplayer modes from ‘Portal 2’. ‘Portal: Companion Collection’ launches on the Nintendo Switch today.

Harvestella 

This new game from Square Enix combines an incredible fantasy setting with lifestyle sim elements. Players will farm, fish, meet locals, and much more in a world with changing seasons. Until a villain reemerges, causing the player to take up arms against an enemy who stops the changing of the seasons. ‘Harvestella’ launches on November 4th of 2022.

Persona 5 Royal, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable

The final announcement of the Nintendo Direct was certainly the most exciting for fans of the ‘Persona’ series. Nintendo will finally be getting several ‘Persona’ titles which have been long overdue. ‘Persona 5 Royal’, the newest entry in the series, will arrive on the platform on October 21st of 2022. Both ‘Persona 4 Golden’ and ‘Persona 3 Portable’ will also be releasing on Switch, with no release window given. It is still unclear why Atlus decided to go with ‘Persona 3 Portable’, the PSP release of the original, which strips away the anime cutscenes and explorable areas in favor of a more static approach. Either way it’s an exciting time to be a ‘Persona’ fan as all of these titles will meld beautifully with the portability of the Switch.
