The ‘Lord of the Rings’ Amazon series received another trailer this morning at San Diego Comic-Con. The series, set a thousand years prior to the events of the original movies, has already made a name for itself for being extremely expensive to produce. However, the trailer showcases an amount of polish not often seen on the small screen.
The series aims to tell the story of Middle-Earths Second Age, which saw the forging of the rings, as well as the rise of the main villain Sauron. Amazon purchased the rights for the television series in November of 2017 for a whopping $250 million, while dumping a considerable amount of money into the production of the actual series. The powerhouse franchise will make its first premiere on the small screen, ushering in a new era for the series.
The first season of ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ is set to release on September 2nd, 2022.
